Fast, Friendly Service in Toronto
Our Toronto office is minutes from Riverdale, Leslieville, the Danforth, Leaside and the Beaches, and our Toronto team has been in the city’s basements for over forty years, first as Hoerner Heating & Plumbing and since 2024 as part of Dr HVAC. Most calls get a licensed technician to your door in four hours or less.
Toronto plumbing is old-house plumbing. Clay drains, cast iron stacks, galvanized supply lines and basement bathrooms that flush uphill through an ejector pump. The Hoerner Heating & Plumbing team that built Toronto’s reputation for that work is now part of Dr HVAC.
Best of all, we provide a 100% satisfaction guarantee on our work. We promise the work will be done correctly, or we will fix it for free.
Dorian was just great. He did a very neat job installing new shut off valves for us in a very tight spot. He also installed new faucets and drains as well. They look really good. It was a pleasure to have someone so polite and willing to explain how he was going to do all the different procedures.

Plumbing in Toronto’s Older Homes
The houses east of Yonge were built before storm sewers, before PVC and before anyone imagined a basement bathroom. That shows up in the calls we get: clay drains that tree roots have found, cast iron stacks that have rusted through at the bottom, and ejector pits that have been quietly doing their job for thirty years until the night they stop.
We are in those basements every day. The Hoerner Heating & Plumbing team that made sewage ejector pumps and radiators a Toronto specialty is now part of Dr HVAC, and that experience is on our trucks.
Small jobs are welcome. Shut-off valves, fill valves and flappers are the most common lines on our plumbing invoices, and we will install a fixture you bought yourself. If you already have the faucet in a box, just tell us when you book.
Worth knowing before you call:
Plumber is a compulsory trade in Ontario. The 306A licence takes about five years and 9,000 hours to earn, and the trade is part of the Red Seal program. A handyman cannot legally do your plumbing, so ask to see the licence. Every plumbing job we do is done by or under a licensed 306A plumber. Source: Skilled Trades Ontario.
Toronto homes built before the mid-1950s may still have a lead water service pipe, and the City estimates just under 16,000 City-owned lead pipes are still in the ground. If you replace your side, the City’s Priority program replaces its side within a target of 12 weeks. Ask us to check the pipe while we are there. Source: City of Toronto.
What the diagnostic visit covers:
- Shut-off valves and the main
- Supply pressure and pipe material
- Fixtures, traps and drains at the problem
- Water heater basics while we are there
- Gas piping if it is on the call
- A written price before any work starts
We service every make of fixture and fitting.
Fixtures we install. Moen and Delta faucets, Toto and American Standard toilets, Liberty sump and ejector pumps, and any fixture you supply yourself.
Licensed for gas. Our technicians are TSSA registered, so a failed Enbridge pressure test or a new BBQ line is the same phone call as a leaking faucet.

Repair or ReplaceFix the fixture or replace it?
A running toilet is usually a fill valve or a flapper, a twenty-minute repair. A toilet that keeps clogging no matter what is often a low-flow model from the 1990s that never worked well, and a new one is the honest answer.
We tell you which one you have, with the price of both options, before we start.

Frequently Asked Questions
Small jobs are most of what we do. Shut-off valves, fill valves, flappers and single faucets are the most common lines on our plumbing invoices. One faucet for a senior parent is a perfectly good reason to call.
Yes. If you already bought the faucet or toilet, tell us the make when you book so the technician arrives with the right fittings. We warranty our installation work either way.
Usually. A running toilet is almost always a fill valve or a flapper, and both are single-visit repairs with parts on the truck. If the toilet is also a chronic clogger, we will tell you when replacement is the better answer.
Yes. Our technicians are TSSA registered. If Enbridge shut off your gas after a failed pressure test, we find the leak, fix it and handle the paperwork to get your supply restored. New lines for ranges, dryers and BBQs are the same call.
We quote the visit fee when you book and credit it toward the repair when you go ahead with us. You will know the repair price before any work starts.
Yes. Our plumbers are fully licensed and insured. When a job needs a Toronto building permit, such as new or modified plumbing or a backwater valve, we pull it. Repairing or replacing a fixture does not need one. Source: City of Toronto.
